Associate Attorney, Insurance Coverage/Defense Litigation

Our client, a growing Garden City-based law firm specializing in insurance defense and litigation, is looking for an Associate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in defense litigation and insurance coverage (personal injury, no-fault, etc.).

 

To be considered for this role, you need to be experienced in all aspects of conducting depositions, discovery, motions, and appearances, a NYS bar license, and hands on experience in litigation defense of personal injury, no-fault, and/or insurance coverage, and strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Appellate experience is a plus.

 

This role is offered as a hybrid (3 days in office, 2 at home), has a salary range of $90k - $125k (based on experience), includes medical/dental coverage, PTO, and 401k with profit-sharing.

Associate, Banking & Finance (Midlevel)

Our client, a large and prominent law firm with an international presence, seeks a mid- level Associate with 3-4 years (i.e., class of 2019 to 2020) of general finance experience, including drafting and negotiating commitment papers, security agreements, credit agreements and other loan documents, UCC experience as well as general corporate experience for their New York City headquarters. Additionally, you must be within reasonable distance to the New York city office (this position is a hybrid, offering 4 days onsite and 1 day at home).

The starting salary for this opportunity is between $310,000 to $365,000 annually (evaluation of your relevant experience and skill set will determine your actual salary).

Associate, Litigation - Construction or Professional Liability

Our client, a boutique law firm in Melville with a 20+ year history of exceptional insurance defense and professional liability and litigation, is looking for an Associate with 2-5 years’ experience litigating either Construction or Professional Liability (representing design professionals, such as Architects, Engineers, Land Surveyors).

 

For this role, you need to be experienced in conducting depositions, all phases of written discovery, production of extensive project records and motions, and appear for Court conferences as necessary, as you will be expected to handle the day-to-day activities on the assigned matter. This role requires an onsite/in-office daily presence, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and a team-oriented work capability.

Associate, Employment/Accessibility Litigation

Our client, a large national law firm headquartered in NYC, seeks an Employment/Accessibility Litigation Attorney for their national management-side labor and employment practice.

 

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience, along with a strong interest in, accessibility and disability accommodation laws/regulations (e.g., Titles I, II, and III of the ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, and equivalent state/local laws) and knowledge of public accommodation accessibility issues (for both brick and mortar and digital entities), including specific experience with litigations, regulatory (DOJ) investigations, advocacy group interactions, and work involving compliance counseling, policies, and training is also required.  Experience with accessibility auditing and/or managing outside auditors (both for brick and mortar structures and websites/mobile applications) is also a bonus.  

Additionally, candidates are expected to have general employment litigation experience, including knowledge of federal and state employment laws.  The ideal candidate should have experience handling certain aspects of litigation such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending court appearances. 

Strong academic credentials, excellent communication and writing skills, Juris Doctorate degree, and admission to practice law in New York (state and federal courts) is also required.

 

The expected salary range for this position ranges from $205,000 - $290,000 (based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained). In addition to the base salary, there is a generous employee benefits package, and a discretionary bonus opportunity.

MidLevel Associate, Patent Litigation

Our client, a large national law firm with a major NYC and Long Island presence, seeks a Midlevel Patent Litigation Associate for their Intellectual Property group. 

 

Attorneys in the Intellectual Property group work closely with clients to remove obstacles, helping them stay ahead of changing patent laws and judicial decisions. They provide solutions for navigating around competitors’ patents, extracting value from their intellectual property while protecting their assets, maintaining rights and ownership, and generating revenue from their patents. These attorneys are self-starters with superb judgment and communication skills, a commitment to excellence and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualified candidates will have at least 6-8 years of patent litigation experience including significant experience with drafting and responding to pleadings, preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts, Markman and claim construction proceedings, patent specific fact and expert discovery, inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy, strong academic credentials, superb judgment and communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent client services. Patent trial experience is a plus. USPTO admission and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or substantial experience litigating matters in these or similar disciplines, are highly desired.  

 

Direct responsibility will be required in the following areas:  drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda and correspondence for use in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings; drafting and responding to complex discovery requests; conferring, negotiating, and communicating with opposing counsel; preparing for, defending, and conducting depositions; preparing for trial, including preparing exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, motions in limine and witness preparation; preparing Federal Circuit appeal briefs; and supervising and training junior associates.

An L.L.M degree in Taxation is a plus.

 

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is based on location and experience:

 

Long Island:     $215,000 to $230,000

New York City: $275,000 to $305,000
